HighScores Release – October 25, 2024

At HighScores, we’re always working to make things easier for teachers and students. This past week, we’ve added some new features and made improvements to help you manage classrooms better and give students a smoother learning experience. Here’s a quick look at what’s new and what’s coming soon!

What Was Cooking at HighScores Last Week

Platform Updates:

Flagged Issues Page for Teachers and Directors

We’ve added a Flagged Issues Page so that teachers and directors can easily track any issues that have been reported by students or other teachers. You’ll be able to see all flagged questions, whether they’re still pending or have been resolved, along with some visual data like how many issues were reported over time in each subject unit and topic and how quickly they were fixed. The questions are also sorted from the latest reported to the oldest, making it easier to stay on top of things.

How to access this page:
Go to Profile iconAdministrationFlagged Issues

This feature is important because it helps teachers and directors easily see all reported issues. By spotting patterns, they can fix problems faster and keep the content accurate and up to date.

Edit and Flag History for Reported Questions

It used to be hard to know what changes were made after a question was flagged. Now, with the new Edit and Flag History Page, teachers can see exactly when and by whom an issue was resolved, and what edits were made to the question. This makes it much clearer and easier to track changes and see if the issue was properly addressed and resolved or not.

How to access this feature:
Click on Profile iconAdministrationFlagged IssuesQuestions → Then click on the History icon next to the flagged question.

This feature helps teachers and directors track the entire history of flagged questions, ensuring transparency. You’ll now know exactly what changes were made and can ensure reported issues are handled correctly.

Time Accommodation for ACT View

We’ve now added the option for extra time accommodations to ACT View tests! This means that students who need extra time can get it for sections like English, reading, science, or math. You can also customize the types of breaks they need, just like we already do for SAT tests.

How to set time accommodation:
Go to UsersStudentsMoreTime Accommodation → Set it up as needed.

What’s Coming Soon:

1. Hints for Questions – We’re working on adding hints for students while they practice learning content, helping them understand questions better.
2. Topic Selection for Self-Practice – Soon, students will be able to choose specific topics (not just units) for self-practice.
3. Student Dashboard – We’re building a dashboard to give students a full view of their progress and keep them motivated.
4. Import Bluebook Results – Your students will be able to see detailed analytics of their College Board tests on HighScores.
5. Favorites for Questions – Students will soon be able to mark questions they want to ask their teachers later by saving them as favorites.
6. Self and Targeted Practice Results for teachers – Teachers will soon be able to see how students are doing in self-practice and targeted practice sessions.

Content Updates:

Advanced Math Course for DSAT

We’ve published a full Advanced Math Course with 7 chapters. Each chapter has multiple concepts with embedded examples explaining the concept, a quiz based on each concept for practice and 1-2 practice tests at the end for real time practice. This gives students a solid understanding of advanced math and helps them practice effectively.

Coming Soon in Content:

-> We’ll be releasing the Algebra course for DSAT Math.
-> Three chapters of the DSAT English Course are coming soon, so stay tuned!

We hope these updates make your teaching experience better and more enjoyable. Keep an eye out for what’s coming next, and feel free to share your feedback with us. Happy teaching!
